12 XII: Ashramic Conditions and First Visit to the Master,

In Chapter XII, Vicente Beltrán-Anglada outlines the requirements for entering a Hierarchical Ashram and describes his first conscious encounter with his Master.

The author explains that entry into an Ashram of the Hierarchy requires three essential conditions: a heart filled with goodwill, a well‑developed ajna center capable of receiving spiritual impression, and a strong, unwavering purpose toward the spiritual life. Only when these three qualities are present does the disciple become visible to the subtle perception of certain human‑deva entities who serve as the Ashram’s advance guard. These observers watch the aspirant from hidden levels, studying his progress, his service, and the magnetic aura he generates. When they detect sufficient development—inner growth, purity of motive, and genuine love for others—they report to the Master, who then examines the candidate for the first time and decides whether he is ready to receive training.

If the disciple is not yet prepared, the period of observation continues. But when the requirements are met, the Master authorizes the observers to assist the aspirant directly. Their task is to ease karmic tension, remove lunar residues from the aura, and stimulate certain centers. During this stage, the author felt the constant, benevolent presence of his human‑deva observers, who visited him night after night during sleep. They worked on his etheric body, performing subtle transmutations that relieved psychological strain caused by a powerful karmic precipitation invoked by his own spiritual intensity. Through delicate “magical” manipulations, they strengthened his heart center and purified his solar plexus.

He anticipates that some readers may think such help is too easily obtained. But he clarifies that this assistance is not granted arbitrarily; it is earned through karmic merit accumulated in past lives—acts of service recorded indelibly in the akashic memory. These past deeds generate a special energy that allows the observers to intervene and support the disciple during critical inner crises. Such help is an integral part of the process of entering an Ashram of the Great White Brotherhood, preparing the disciple to make conscious contact with the Master.

After many months of this preparatory phase, the author was informed—during sleep—by his principal observer, Brother R., that he would be presented to the Master the following night. That day, despite facing difficult karmic matters, everything resolved effortlessly, as though the path had been cleared. That night, following Brother R.’s instructions, he lay quietly, waiting. Though he did not fall asleep immediately, he suddenly awakened on the astral plane, standing between Brother R. and a luminous angelic Being whose presence radiated joy and trust.

Guided by these two companions, he found himself before the Master whom he now serves. The Master received him with deep affection and congratulated him for several esoteric articles he had written for a magazine in Argentina, encouraging him to continue writing because he still had much to offer “to this needy world.” The Master sat in a large red chair on a raised platform. The author noticed little else; his entire being was absorbed in the Master’s presence. The Master was tall and slender, with reddish‑blond hair falling over his shoulders, dressed in a light blue silk robe embroidered with silver. The author recognized Him as Master X and felt as though he had known Him since childhood.

The Master spoke for some time about aspects of the author’s karmic life, then embraced him with a tenderness that filled his heart with indescribable sweetness. “You will return,” He said. He then gave instructions to the two companions, and in an instant the author found himself back in his physical body, lying in bed as dawn broke in the East. Sleep was impossible. His entire being vibrated with joy as he tried to recall the Master’s image, His musical voice, and the presence of the Brothers who had guided him.

The author concludes by reflecting on the profound peace and trust that always accompany contact with the Master. Whether encountered physically or in mental form, the Master is a liberated being—a disciple of the Bodhisattva, an elder Brother of the human race, and a distinguished member of the Great White Brotherhood that guides the destiny of the world.

Keynotes

  • The Three Conditions for Entry:

    1. Goodwill: Requiring a correct development of the Heart chakra.

    2. Information/Knowledge: Requiring development of the Ajna center.

    3. Vigorous Purpose: A strong spiritual drive to sustain progress.

  • The "Advanced Guard" of the Ashram: Before acceptance, candidates are monitored by "observers” (advanced human-Deva entities who track their progress and service). This period of observation varies based on the candidate's intensity of purpose and affection for others.

  • Etheric Surgery: Once the Master approves, observers provide direct help. The author describes "operations" on his etheric body during sleep to transmute psychological tensions and clear "lunar residues" from the solar plexus.

  • The Law of Service: This spiritual assistance is not a "free gift" but a right earned through past-life acts of service recorded in the Akashic records.

  • First Astral Meeting: Accompanied by the observer Brother R. and a luminous Angel, the author was presented to his Master. He describes the Master as a tall, thin man with reddish-blonde hair, wearing a light blue silk robe with silver designs. The Master praised his esoteric articles and encouraged him to keep writing for a "needy world."
